otherwrlds is a creative futures space founded by eM Perera in 2020.
at otherwrlds, artists, designers, and technologists explore creative futures as nodes of digital entanglements in art, tech, media and music exploring popular culture experiences.
our works ruminate on what it means to be messily alive as humans in the Anthropocene (i.e. an era of intense human-manipulated consumerism marked on the planet), via our favourite digital interfaces; with a focus on new American dreaming as a globalized phenomena filtering through the multiple surfaces of social media and the digital hive mind. A dreaming not limited to the USA but integrating the meshing cultures of the new normal we live in modern times.

eM is the founding director, curator and designer. She works with collaborating advisors and technologists to produce works until the core team formulates at de Musee.
eM is a posthuman artist and creative producer with a passion for semiotics and quantum physics simplified. She two decade record in social system design, media production, and works in the emerging fields of futures and in experiential media, all of which influence her design work.
She has worked in related sectors in North America, Asia and Africa, and holds a Masters in Digital Futures (Canada), and B.A. Communications (USA).
