c-LAB
@ CANNES 2026
a film festival is a catalyst — a high-velocity environment where private vision enters public dialogue.
what gets lost in that transition is rarely the idea. it's the signal. the interior argument that made the film worth making in the first place.
the c-LAB at musée de new normal holds that signal. a structured c-PLAY method in working sessions for filmmakers — not about comparables or demographics, but about the poetic logic of the work itself before the next decision has to be made.
WHO THIS IS FOR
Filmmakers with a project that isn’t landing
Creatives stuck between versions of their work
Actors / directors needing a sharper narrative
Anyone at Cannes thinking: “this isn’t clear yet”
play with your narrative
You know your project. Something isn't landing. We find the friction, name what's actually in the way, and build the version that moves.
For directors and writers. When the pitch isn't doing what the film does.
60 min
play with your film's sound before it has one
Three songs tell us more about your film than three pages of notes. We use music as a diagnostic — tone, pace, emotional register — and give your project a sonic identity it can work from.
For directors and editors. When you know the feeling but not the frame

Mc (mac) is the director and curator of musée de new normal — a roving cultural institution founded at Cannes 2024, operating across Paris, London, and the Côte d'Azur.
Mc works at the intersection of cultural pattern recognition, creative systems thinking, and X-shaped curatorial practice. The c-LAB sessions at Cannes draw on two decades of institutional design, programme development, and applied creative intelligence across film, music, and lived culture.
